Bad Honnef is located in the Rhine river valley roughly 20 km south of Bonn. Its wonderful location nestled in the Siebengebirge mountains, and its status as a “Gesundheitsstadt” (health city) makes the city of over 25,000 inhabitants a popular conference and vacation spot in the North Rhine-Westphalia / Rhine-Sieg district. One of the area’s most famous citizens was Konrad Adenauer, first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, who lived in the Rhöndorf neighborhood until his death in 1967.
