The community of Krummhörn is piloting the use of NAV 2017

newsystem remains state-of-the-art and assures long-term success

Ulm, 15th September 2016

INFOMA Software Consulting GmbH – part of Axians, Vinci Energies’ ICT solutions brand – is remaining completely up-to-date with its newsystem product family, and has implemented the first worldwide productive in-stallation of the new Microsoft technology Dynamics NAV 2017. Since 22nd August 2016, the community of Krummhörn in Lower Saxony has been piloting newsystem based on the latest technology. In the run-up, INFOMA took part in the closed Microsoft Beta-Program TAP (Technology Adoption Program) together with the communal end-user for the first time and was thus able to make a significant contribution to the stability and continuity of the new NAV version. The IT service provider and INFOMA partner group member, KDO, took over the installation, which newsystem runs from its own computer centre.

The fact that INFOMA set has adopted a pioneering role is confirmed by Marko Perisic, General Manager Microsoft Dynamics NAV worldwide: “INFOMA is the first partner with a go live customer on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017. This is fantastic news and we are really excited about working with INFOMA for many successful future endeavours.”

Little will be changing in the application of newsystem for users and adminis-trators, as this is an onward rather than a new development. Tobias Fenster, technical head /CTO, explains: “The change is merely a normal product up-date. The customer therefore does not get a new version of newsystem, but a facelift with advanced basis technology, which offers him even more effi-ciency and security.”

Monika Tinter, head of the finance department of the community of Krummhörn, can also confirm that the change-over took little effort: “From the user’s point of view, the change-over took place quite simply – just like a normal update. Users do not need any training. Small adjustments during the pilot program were swiftly carried out thanks to the excellent collaboration with KDO and INFOMA.”

And Martin Sunder, product manager for newsystem at the joint body for municipal data processing in Oldenburg (KDO), adds: “There are hardly any changes in the infrastructure, so technical transfer to the new update status and subsequent operation took place without any issues. The use of newsystem is now even more efficient due to new functions such as the consolidation and preview of accounts as an onward development of the application.”

Apart from technical changes, just like with any newsystem update, there are some technical innovations that are of benefit to the user due to the basis technology update. This means that they now have a comprehensively im-proved Web Client as well as a Mobile Client for tablet and phone at their disposal.

With use of the latest technology, we are underscoring our claim that newsystem’s functional as well as technological future and stability is as-sured as a leading financial system for the community,” says INFOMA Man-aging Director Oliver Couvigny commenting on the latest development.
